Welton Street Corridor

Built 1890–2024

The cultural heart of Five Points — Welton Street between 25th and 30th has been Denver's Black Main Street since the early 1900s, home to jazz clubs, barbershops, churches, and community institutions. The Rossonian Hotel at 26th and Welton once hosted Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis. Today the corridor is a mix of preserved Victorian row houses, adaptive-reuse commercial buildings, and modern infill townhomes. The Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library anchors the northern end. Gentrification has dramatically changed the demographic profile, but murals, historic markers, and the annual Five Points Jazz Festival keep the cultural legacy visible. New construction townhomes in the $600K+ range sit alongside 1890s Victorians with original millwork.
